Born Angela Boyd in Morton, Miss., B Angie B toured as a hoofer with rapper MC Hammer in the 1980s, becoming his musical protégé when she inked a contract with his Bust It record label in 1991. The songbird's great vocal riffs and unique style brought soul to a hip-hop generation with tunes such as "So Much Love," "Pump It Up," "Men Get Lonely," "A Woman's Perspective," "I'm So Sorry" and "My Prayer to You."
