After a violent act leaves her shaken and emotionally scarred, a young woman named Marieke (Rifka Lodeizen), bent on rebuilding her life, leaves Amsterdam for the countryside, where a new friendship with a local farmer (Wim Opbrouck) becomes vital to her emotional survival. All the while, Marieke journeys through mania, fear, mistrust, pain and a host of other raw sensations in Dutch director Esther Rots's unflinching odyssey.
